Dr. Bernstein's Announcement of What Your Food Ate and Why it Matters Event
The What Your Food Ate and Why it Matters Event is coming up this Thursday April 9th at the Life Sciences Center at Delaware Valley University at 6 pm. As many of you know, I have been talking about supporting the local farmers markets and farmers that grow and steward the land and their animals using regenerative principles.
Anne Biklé, the author of What Your Food Ate explains the history and evolution of farming in this country. She provides many studies and examples regarding the increase of nutritive value of produce and animals raised on regenerative farms.
Regenerative farming is not only much more nutritious and healthy for each individual who choses to eat this way, but has far reaching effects on the soil health which draws in carbon to reduce greenhouse gases, helps the soil hold more runoff preventing the loss of top soil, which in turn reduces flooding. In addition, since regenerative farming uses much less inputs such as fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, this makes for healthier food, farmers, the air and water quality in our community.
I hope to see you at the upcoming event and the local farmers markets as well as CSAs . We can make a difference with the choices we make. Please Note: Above statements are not written by Health Realizations nor the opinion of Health Realizations
