Drron note: So true! Our bodies make lemonade when we give it lemons. That is why we can live anywhere (if there is oxygen) and eat whatever we can find there in the jungle or the 7-Eleven. Study examines link between food texture, overeating

Researchers in the Netherlands are examining the impact of altering the texture of ultra-processed foods on energy intake. The study, published in Nutrition Bulletin,involves two 14-day diet phases during which participants consume hard-textured and soft-textured ultra-processed foods in random order to assess changes in energy intake and metabolic outcomes.

No one-size-fits-all schedule for healthy eating

Nutrition experts say there is no one-size-fits-all approach to optimal meal timing and frequency, but they recommend eating when hungry and ensuring meals are balanced, with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Registered dietitian Marisa Moore recommends eating most food earlier in the day and avoiding large meals close to bedtime to aid digestion and sleep quality, while RD Jamie Nadeau notes that intermittent fasting is not necessarily more effective than traditional diet and lifestyle changes for weight management.

Eat early

Eat often

Eat before you are hungry

Always have a complete protein

Increase the variety of foods

Lots of color on your plate

Drink at least 8 glasses of water

Try them. The earlier you eat - The earlier you get hungry. That means you burned-up all those breakfast calories. Your metabolism is higher when you eat early, as opposed to eating later in the morning.

Rather than starving and dropping your metabolism, eat a mini-meal before lunch to keep your metabolism up.

If you do not have that mini-meal, you will be sleepy after lunch. Not just because you may have had more carbs and less protein, but also when your metabolism is down so is your capacity to handle your lunch and stay awake.

Experiment,and learn what eating style works for you.

 

Comparing the nutritional profiles of red, green grapes

Green and red grapes are nutritionally similar, with both containing around 80-86calories, 1 gram of protein, and no fat per 100 grams. They also have comparable carbohydrate and sugar content, making them similar choices from a nutritional standpoint. Registered dietitians caution that their high sugar content should be considered, especially for those mindful of blood sugar levels.

Study: Blueberries enhance immune response in infants

Introducing blueberries as one of an infant's first solid foods may enhance immune function and gut health, according to a study published in Frontiers in Nutrition.The research shows that infants consuming freeze-dried blueberry powder experience improved allergy symptoms, reduced inflammation, and beneficial changes in gut microbiota.

How is Drron? Grateful, and thankful for the opportunity to help with the hospice care of Leo, my 96-year-old father-in-law. He still tries to be independent, and not call us. His frequent potty breaks, worry us, because he is not stable. This morning, I found him sitting next to toilet on the floor. Missed the seat despite safety rails, handholds, safety commode railings. Fortunately, no damage. But it is not easy to lift him up. For me, it is hard to see how little he eats, how bony he is getting, how unsteady, and short of breath despite oxygen, how short his lucid intervals are. Everything is spiraling downward. Including how mentally and physically tired we ourselves get at times. Madonna and I sleep alternate nights in Leo’s room. Did I say sleep? Catnaps, because from 12 to 5am he is up every half hour to one and a half hours wanting to go pee. (that is his cancer). Wow, it is different. Thank you, LORD, for the challenge. In the neighborhood got deleted you will get to see them next week: Big dragons, the Skeletons are playing jump rope with their kid. Squashes and pumpkins display at NorthPark Mall. It is time to pluck cotton, and Jax on duty.
